Chanakya Economic forum Inauguration

Sahyadri Institute of Commerce First Grade College, had organized an inauguration function of Economic forum for the undergraduate students of the college.  It was inaugurated in the hands of Mr. Laxmikant, Coordinator of Department Economics in IDSG, First Grade College, Chikkamagaluru.

The name for the Forum was given as “Chanakya Economic Forum” by remembering the contribution of chanakya to the field of economics.

Chanakya’s  contribution to the field of economics is vital and in depth study of his writings is still relevant today.

Mr. Laxmikakant addressed the students and explained how war policies and economic policies of chanakya is adopted in the country and in abroad even today.

He also added that “if you study the scriptures of chanakya you can make your life meaningful.

Mr.Ullas E G, Principal of the college, inspired students by chanakya calling milestone of economic history and also added that if we achive success, we will be remembered tomorrow.

Quiz Competition

Sahyadri Institute of Commerce, First Grade College, nurtures the inquisitive mind.  To hone this talent of the students a quiz competition was organized on 25th March 2022 as the third and last stage of quiz program.

The major objective of this program was to emphasise on the improvement of the intellect and general knowledge of the students.  The program was organized for the first year B.com students of the college.  Total 10 teams participated and three final teams were declared as winners.

Ms. Sumitha, Lecturer, Sahyadri Institute of Commerce, First Grade College, conducted the quiz in a very interactive way and the teams Participated with the great enthusiasm.  The audience clapped when the teams answered correctly as some of the questions were tricky.  The audience also got a chance to participate every time the teams answered incorrectly.

The Principal of the college Mr. Ullas E G, all the teaching staff and students were present at the final round of quiz competition.
